Sunday's (Dec' 26th 2004) earthquake-tidal wave disaster:
Salty water everywhere, not a drop to drink


A tsunami of this size happens once in a generation that has killed more than 116,000 people (as of Dec' 29th). Survivors in seven countries on the shores of the Indian Ocean, scrambled frantically through the debris and devastation for their loved ones on Tuesday as the death toll climbed.

As the search and rescue operations continue and medical assistance to the victims is provided, food aid for those who lost their homes in the destruction -- together with health, shelter and sanitation concerns-will become more acute.

As the extent of the massive damage caused by tidal surges in the Indian Ocean region of Asia becomes clearer, donations for the most immediate food aid needs for hundreds of thousands of Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and India.
