"Concentration is the essence of all knowledge; nothing can be done without it.
Ninety per cent of thought force is wasted by the ordinary human being, and therefore
he is constantly committing blunders; the trained man or mind never makes a mistake.

How to remain democratic and keep the country's federal character?
|
If India has to remain democratic and keep its federal character, it has to give more autonomy to states, the states to district, the districts to taluks, and the taluks to village panchayaths. The fear of loosing unity of the country is just a hallucination of a few who govern the country, irrespective of political affiliation. One has to remember that India was originally a republic of villages, and each village was a self-governing unit. It has developed certain ideas of state, based on the types of personalities commonly found in society. India’s strength is in unity in its own diversity. Pure academics won’t understand it, pure politicians won’t understand it and pure bureaucrats won’t understand it. Unity cannot be achieved merely by more and more control and centralization. Sustainable unity can be achieved only by more and more decontrol.
Inherent strength of ancient India and its ancient religion i.e. Hinduism, is “decontrol”. It is in the basic character of its people. There is a greater unity in the diversity and the decontrol. This is what keeps the country united during the past more than five decades of Indian independence, and not due to the merits of the governance of this country and not on military and police strength.
Indian political leadership of all kinds will understand this inherent strength if they go down to villages and village re-construction work is their agenda # 1, as it was with Mahatma Gandhi.
Neither RSS nor Bajrang Dal nor Peetathipathis of different Sankara Mutts, are the real voices of Hindus. Their absolutism, is a sign of destability more for their own organizations and positions. There are hundreds and thousands of other silent saints in the country, whose silence speak volumes and keep the people united. They live on ‘Jungle’ (Forest), ‘Jal’ (Water) and ‘Jnan’ (Knowledge). They pass on the knowledge to those seek the same. But for them Hinduism survived this long and all other religions can survive along with Hinduism. Even Christianity and Islam will survive in India, even if the same gets disappeared from the rest of the world. Our politicians and the so called intelligentia must understand it. Their blocked mind is the only threat to this country i.e. India.
Mahatma Gandhi truthfully said “I have nothing new to teach this world as Truth, Love and Non-violence are as old as Himalayas”. If one’s mind is in the present moment, one will be truthful. When one is truthful, love naturally flowers. When there is love, there is no question of violence and non-violence is a reality. This is common sense. That common sense is very uncommon these days. One has to learn “art of living” to obtain and retain ‘common sense’. |
